Hey all-
I’ll be relocating to the Milwaukee area soon (Mukwonago actually), and I was wondering if anyone can tell me what hardwood lumberyards are in the area, which are good, which to stay away from, etc etc.
Also, who are the tools and supply shops in the area, which are good, and which ones you will choose to make no comment on.
I am a home/hobbiest that usually buys 50-150 bf at a time, if that helps narrow my choices.
Should I expect lumber prices to be better/worse/on par with what I am paying in Des Moines, IA? From the messages around here, it seems like lumber prices vary greatly around the country.
Thanks in advance, as always.
Eric.

Welcome to Wisconsin EH?
I seem to remember a place near you called Kettle Moraine Hardwoods. There exact location is something that I am not sure of but I am sure it is in your area. They mostly handle rough lumber and will mill it for you on request. They are a very nice place and there staff really knows there stuff. Through another job name I purchased thousands of feet of lumber from them. A lot of phone orders were made. Again they are nice and so are there prices. LOL. Rick......
It is north on Hwy 41. I want to say that it is at the Cty K turnoff. By M J Stevens restaurant.
There is also a lumber yard in Walworth, Badger Hardwoods:http://www.badgerwood.com/ That is southwest of Milwaukee. A little further away, I43 to 14 south.
