milwaukee router designed for jessem
Santa is considering bringing me a new jessem router table AND the Milwaukee 3.5HP EVS motor/switch. The controls and switch in a remote box seems well thought out. I am most interested in the input of those who have this or considered it. It is spendy – but is it worth it?

The switch and speed control are well thought out but not needed IMHO. I have the Milwaukee router mounted in a Bench Dog ProLift mounted in the Bench Dog cast iron extension wing. I have the router mounted so that I am able to just reach under the table and turn it on or off and change speed with just a quick glance. Now if the Jessem table is enclosed get the Milwaukee with the remote controls.

i have the whole kit and it works pretty well. The only thing i noticed is the motor is louder then the porter cable routers i have and the runout is bad so with some tasks i am left only using the quickest speed.
Yes I am sure the remote control panel is nice but my setup works fine without it.
Have you measured the runout of a mounted router bit? I had a vibration problem when I first got the Milwaukee 5625 and I could not figure out what was causing it. I noticed a couple of posts here and at Sawmill Creek that other people were having the same problem. It turns out that their was excessive end play of the armature. Milwaukee did not use any wave washers at the brush end of the armature like they did on the 5615 router. I installed 2 wave washers (P/N 45-88-0045) and the vibration is gone. Milwaukee shows 3 wave washers in the 5615 parts breakdown but I only used 2. You might check your shaft end play and see if you have the same problem. I am sure Milwaukee would fix it under warranty but I enjoy fixing my own tools so I did.
