I’m building a cherry floor lamp that will be ready to finish soon. I picked up some Minwax Tung Oil Finish. I believe it’s probably a BLO, varnish, mineral spirits mixture. I tried a little on a test board and it seemed to create a nice soft finish.
I was planning on putting it on with a abrasive pad and using the slurry to fill the pores and a few small imperfections. Anyone have any experience with this finish and this application?
Thanks,

You are correct. It's an oil/varnish mixture like Watco and many others. It contains no real tung oil but it's a good product. It will work well as you plan to use it.
