I’m about to glue oval beveled mirrors into wood for ladies hand mirrors.
What glue should I use? I don’t want to harm the silver plate.
TIA,
Don

Hi Don ,
I think it is called mirror mastic or mirror magic , any glass shop will have it .
The product I saw was black in color and looked like construction adhesive.
good luck dusty
You want to use a specialty adhesive. This site has a product and some good information. Some raw lumber may excrete some pitch or other chemicals that may degrade the mirror back. It's a good idea to seal the wood first.

Beat it to fit / Paint it to match
Like the others have said, use a glue that is specifically designed for mirrors. Anything else will eat at the silvering.
I've used mirror mastic, the black stuff in a caulk tube -- which I get from my glass supplier.
