Mission-style end table/bookcase combo
*
A couple of days ago, while browsing online plans, I saw one for a mission-style combination end table and bookcase. Briefly, it was a slightly large, square-top end table with the standard look: made of oak, the vertical slats on each side, etc. However, rather than having a single shelf for books underneath the top, that faces toward the front of the table, this one had two shelves for books on the left half of all four sides of the table, with vertical slats on the right. (Actually, the shelves went all the way from side-to-side, but were partially hidden by the slats on the right.)
In other words (probably too many), if you were to look at any of the four sides you would see two levels of books on the left half, and the mission-style vertical slats running on the right half. Walk a quarter-turn around the table and you’d see the same thing.
I hope that’s relatively clear. Anyway, I stupidly said, “Hmmm, I like that,” and passed right on by. Now I’d like to get the plan, and can’t find it to save my life.
Any assistance would be much appreciated. I don’t remember if this was a free plan or not, but it was definitely downloadable… not a paper-plan. BTW, I’m a beginning woodworker, so I’m using plans to get myself comfortable with principles of joinery, etc. (Otherwise I’d just design the darn thing myself!)
Thanks,
David

Davamoore,
The design you describe is shown in great detail in "The Furniture of Gustav Stickley" by Bavaro & Mossman, Linden Publishers, available through the Woodcraft catalog, item #124764. Call 1-800-225-1153. The book has excellent measured drawings and techniques for a number of other Mission style projects as well. Not free, but well work the $19.95. I made a Morris chair out of the book, came out great. Good luck.
*Aaron --Thanks for the information; I'll track the book down. BTW, sorry about the delayed "thank you" (what, seven weeks after the fact?!). I've been bogged down at work, and since I hadn't seen a reply to the original post for a couple of months, I stopped looking!David
