Hey Group,
New to forum… Let’s give it a go…
I have a miter saw stop system that I really love. I’ve had it for years, and in my cabinet shop it has not worn out, it is deadly accurate, and oh-so simple. How can I expect more right??
Well, here’s the snag. I want to buy another setup for 2 more saws, but I can’t remember the manufacture’s name. It may be printed on the bottom of the fence, but I really don’t want to disassemble my setup just to look. So my question is, Does anyone else have this same system? And do you know where to buy it? Describtion follows…
Black aluminum track 48″ long with scale etched right to left on top stating at 12″ and working in 16th’s left to 60″. Track is about 1-3/16″ square with a t-slot on all 4 sides. (I guess it could be mounted several different ways.) The track acts as the fence and I have 2 smallish stops I use regularly. Both stops have an allen head locking screw, and a small flip stop that easily slides back to bypass the closer stop to use the farther. The stops are balanced so that when you push it back with your stock to use the other stop, it easily falls back out for the next use on its own.
As I said, I’ve had this setup for several years, and it’s dead reliable. So if you know the name of the system, please reply, and if you are looking for a system and see the reply, its worth checking out…. Not bulky, very strudy, and it works.
Thanks,
Ken

"Stop" system
Sorry. I can't help you. But, as a new member, I did not want you to feel ignored.

Welcome! I hope you get better help than I could provide.
stop system
Sorry I can't identify it for you either, but I can see from the photo that it's identical to the system used on Blum drilling machines. If you've got a serious Blum hardware dealer near you you can get the rails and stopper elements as spare parts.
Blum Fence
THATS IT!
I have a smaller one that came on my BLUM hinge boring machine. I don't remember where I came up with the longer one, but I'll be calling my rep today for a new one. Thanks a ton. Man, it stinks getting old! ... and what bad is that I'm only 39! What will my world be like in 20 years???
lex,
'twas mrs. roosevelt who said "i distinctly remember having forgotten that." of course it could have been helen keller....

getting old
I could tell you what it will be like at 60 but you don't want to hear it. Enjoy your picnic for as long as it lasts.
Ooh , I would give just anything to remember what it was like at sixty!
The drooling gets in the way of the sanding.... and you forget just a few more things.
Thanks Guys,
Your info got the job done. My Blum Fence is ordered and on it's way. I now deem this Forum to be a Success!
