I need help deciding between the Ridgid ms1065lz & the dewalt dw703 saws. The dewalt is only $10 more on clearance right now . This is what I see so far. The dewalt has an adjustable mitre gauge (the part that actually has the degree markings on it) and the ridgids is riveted. The ridgid comes with one bed extension and the dewalt has none. Any comments would be greatly appreciated. Shane

Not sure why you're not getting any feedback on these -- people too busy?? Sorry, no help from me except to bump the topic up a bit. If you don't get anything tomorrow, you might try reposting with more specific info in the title of the thread (veterans tend to glaze over when they see a general "Miter saws" thread). e.g., "Miter saws: Rigid vs. DeWalt" might work.
I will say that one of the reasons I didn't consider a DeWalt when I was looking was because it was such a bare-bones yet fairly expensive unit, and they wanted lots o' bucks for the extras.

I have the DW708 Which I use alot for construction (decks etc) I like it very much But the first Thing I did was check the adjustments and fine tune it. Been very happy with it. I own many Dewalt tools. Been very satified with them. I Don't have any experience with Ridgid except a friend of mine has the Ridgid ts3650 table saw and he is very satified with it. My only concern with ridgid is the fact that the only place you can buy them is from Home Depot and what worries me is if they want to be more competitive if they will tell the manufacturer to cheapen up the saw and use the Ridgid name and reputation and the HD marketing skills to sell the tools. Not that it can't happen with other tools either.
