I’m looking to build a mitre sled for my tablesaw. Rather than tilt the blade, I’m more inclined to make a sled that accurately tilts the wood @ 45 degrees. Anyone have suggestions and/or pics of some designs?

Actually I just posted a description of mine in the string started by a guy making jewelry boxes. It is a great idea, because you don't have to ajust the blade or go through the fine tuning process. Just set the jig on the saw, cut, and remove it.
Mine has a bottom board of 3/4 plywood, and a top board that angles up and away from the blad at 45 degrees. The top is supported by teo 45 degree triangular braces glued and screwed into place. Take time to get it just right. Leave it a little long toward the blade, and cut off the edge, leaving a new edge that is about 1/2 to 3/4 inches above the table top. You need that space for "hang off" on some cuts. A runner on the bottom in the miter slot of course. A short fence on the back edge of the top gives you al reference for the board being cut. When that too is cut off on the first pass along the blade, the resulting 45 degree end on the fence provides back up for all future cuts. I also cut some holes in the top so that I can put a clamp through, but I rarely do that.
Hope that description made sense.
Just curious about your design concept........
If you need to cut a board at a bevel, and the cut needs to be a few inches in from the end of the board, how will your sled be used?
Unless you're the lead dog, the view just never changes.
I wouldn't use it for that purpose, just to bevel any/all sides of a board. I want to build mitred boxes which will be constructed with mitres all around. That way I could then shape them any way I want to without fear of having any gaps. This would also facilitate splines/dovetails to strengthen the joints.
Ity appears that the previous design should work, so will be building it tonight after work. I'll provide pics when done.
