Hi all,
I’m looking for ideas and/or pics of mobile clamp carts. I started to design one with in an a-frame style, but am stuck on what will hold the clamps. I’m looking to store about 40 pipe clamps, 12 K-Bessey, and various assorted c, f, and band clamps. I’d appreciate any ideas.
Thanks,
Eric

Wellll, you could always start with Norm's clamp cart from a couple years ago. I think the angle of the A-frame helps the clamps stay put, doesn't it? I Googled for woodworking "clamp cart" and the following showed up:
http://www.woodweb.com/knowledge_base/Clamp_Cart.html Lots of pipe clamps on that one.
I prefer a cart that has dowels sticking out for spring clamps, so I don't have to squeeze them open when I put them on. I'd also caution against the designs that have clamp heads sticking out at ankle level, for obvious reasons!

Forestgirl,
Thanks for the links. They should both help. I'm along the same design but a little bigger. I'm trying to figure out a way to place more than one pipe in clamp in the space allotted. I will post pics in the gallery when I'm done, though that may be awhile. As far as things being at ankle level.....somehow my shin is always catching carts and offcuts so I try to keep ankle biters in mind.
Thanks again,
