Hello,
I could sure use some advise. I have a 2001 mobile home and in the living room where the ceiling meets is a very “cheap” looking trim board up where my beautiful crystal chandelier is. I want to replace this center trim board with something classy and attractive to upgrade the “feel” of the room. I have been to my local millworks and other stores that sell trim and asked for advise or ideas and have received blank stares as no one has any advise to upgrade this cheap look. Because the ceiling is low a center “beam” is out . I just think that the correct trim board would add a classy look. I prefer a “modern” (minimualist) look, not an elaborate overly embelished look.
ideas for correct trim anyone ?
Thank you

Use some cardboard to see how wide a plank you would need to cover the existing center board and make contact with the ceiling on either side. Taking that old one down has some risk to it. Screwing a wider cover directly to it is how I would go.
Once you have your width you'll know how much you can play with edge profiles without getting close to the trim ring of the light fixture.
Thanks for advice.
