I am a weekend woodworker who is looking for some peace of mind concerning moisture levels in wood. I want to buy a moisture meter. Because im a weekender i am looking for a efficient and cost effective meter. Is there any that can be used on rough or smooth wood? Mabey I really dont need one at all? Digital or anolog? Has it been worth the money for you? Thank all of you for your help

IMHO, if you're a weekender and not drying your own stock, i.e. you buy kiln dried from the local yard, you don't gain much for having one. There are numerous varieties out there, and yes some will read through rough stock. Curious what the concern is that you would want one for weekend projects.
