I am a furniture builder and don’t care to use the pin type meters on rough sawn or finished lumber even if the pin holes can be cosmetically plugged. Is it true that pinless meters can be used on rough sawn lumber with accuracy?
Are there any other pros or cons to using pin type or pinless moisture meters?

I recall one that one of the Taunton folks mentioned that the next issue of FWW will have a review of moisture meters. You may find an answer there if no one has much to say here (unlikely).

I 've used a pinless meter for several years and it works fine on rough lumber. I take it with me when I go to the mill to get lumber. Art
