Ok stop laughing please
I have norton Waterstones that I use for sharpening. I left them in a Tupperware container in water. The next time I pulled them out there was some black mold on them. The darn things are expensive so I’m wondering if they are salvageable. I was thinking of dunking them in some bleach mixed in water to kill the mold. Assuming I rinse thoroughly, should that be ok for my good LN planes?
ok you can laugh quietly to yourself but the question is real

I used to have those exact stones and though I had never had mold on them I would just clean them with soap and water and use then like normal I believe the mold issue is from the water ,And the mold with not effect your planes, just oil blades after sharpening cheers
I put a little bleach in the water I soak my stones in and have no issues. I have King stones, but I assume they are similar to Norton.

Thanks, all. I've cleaned them with soap/ water, and put a tiny bit of bleach in the water that I store them in. Looks good for now!
