Mark your calendars! August 12, 13 and 14. Details are in the link below my name!
Workshops are beginning to fall into place. Robin Lee, the CEO of Lee Valley Hardware will be here and he will be giving a presentation on how tools are developed and brought to market. Complete with props and a well polished delivery this will be one to see. He will be here all day Saturday, before and after his presentation, and if you have ever thought these guys are out of your reach think again! Rob has mentioned something about a preview of something to be released in the fall. This is not a sales pitch! Rob is truly one of the good guys and agreed on the condition that he would not have to sell.
I’m looking into a band for Saturday night. It will probably add another $5 bucks to the fee. The band is The Fossils, a bunch of old, well, fossils, that play a great mix of music all of us love. Campfires, live music and dancing after a day of yammering about woodworking! Yowsa!
There is going to be a charge for MontanaFest to cover catered meals, beer, rented tents, porta potties and such. I’m hopeful that it will be around $100 for all three days and something like $50 for Saturday only. I’m going to try to keep the cost as low as possible so don’t expect gourmet cuisine, just a belly full of good food. (The beer will be a microbrew like fat Tire, there are some things I won’t compromise on)
If you want to be on a mailing list send me an email with MontanaFest in the subject line. I’ll be offering updates on these forums as well as through email. I won’t sell your addresses for less than a million bucks so it’s safe. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I’ll accept Canadian…
I am constantly guaging interest and soon I’ll be working up hard numbers for fees. Since it’s based in large part on attendance I’d appreciate those seriously considering attending letting me know either right here or through an email.
One other thing…. I’m hawking this at WoodCentral and here. I want all online woodworkers to feel invited so if you participate in other forums please extend the invitation on my behalf. Please feel free to post the link that’s below my name and encourage your fellows to attend.
