This thing is going to happen, we’re just nailing down the dates. I’ve received a lot of great response!
I’ll be starting a webpage for details about this but I’ll nutshell it here.
The Fest will start on Friday afternoon and run through Sunday evening.
We have five acres so we can handle RVs, tents, teepees…, whatever. There are campgrounds, lodgings and B & B’s nearby.
There will be workshops for those interested in woodworking; workshops like vacuum veneering, carving, plane making, finishing, router how to’s, bowl turning, pen turning, chair making, discussions with writers and dealers of really high tech equipment.
Available on our property for those not interested in woodworking we will have horseshoes, croquet, pasture golf, hot tub, lolling in the sun and shade, nightly campfires, contests and tournaments for adults and kids alike.
Available off site are Yellowstone River floats, either raft or inner tubes, day hikes, short hikes, trips to Yellowstone Park, fishing, horseback rides, art galleries, museums, hot spring pool and short strolls to the Yellowstone River.
Now, if your appetite ain’t whetted, you ain’t alive!
The weekends in question are July 9, July 16, and August 13. Pick a date.
Where exactly are we? We live 18 miles south of Livingston, Montana. To find us on a map find the tiny town of Pray by following Highway 89 south from Livingston, we live nearby.
For those not familiar with me here is a link to my website. I look forward to hosting this festival. I want people to leave here inspired, excited and with knowledge they did not have when they arrived. We will have plenty of activities for those not interested in woodworking such as spouses and children and a great deal of fun for everyone who comes.
Edit: The dates are nailed down! Look here for more information, this page will continue to grow.

Very nice website Lee, not as nice as your work though.
Lee.
Those dates are so close together it really does not matter. Pick a date and we shall come.
So far,Link Van Cleave has said he'll make the trip from California to teach wooden plane making. Link is a good friend of James Krenov and it's a real honor to have him attend.A friend in the magazine world who has asked to remain anonymous (for a while) has offered to attend and share his take on woodworking as seen from a journalist's point of view. He sees the world through well travelled eyes and it's going to be a great talk on the state of the craft, where it's going, and what he sees as important changes to the hobby end of things as well as the professional end.I will be leading workshops on beginning carving and vacuum veneering.I'm hoping others step forward to share their particular speciality.Lee
Hello Lee,
Was wondering if you want me to make a new folder for Fest related discussions, as there is in Breaktime? Let me know I think its awesome that you folks are getting together and it sounds like you have a very cool agenda building. If there is anything that I can do to help promote this on the forums give me a shout (or at least an email).

Sure Mark. You create the folder, I'll create the fodder. It's looking like August 13th is the date.Lee
Lee,
So are forum admin types allowed at this fest?

Heck yeah, bring your wife, your kids and your dogs. In fact, if you have room drag Andy along.Lee
Lee, I probably will in Lolo around June or early July. Let me know when it is and I will try to accomadate if possible. I'd love to meet you and see yourr shop. Any advice on acanthus leaves would also be welcomed.
Frank
No dogs, not sure on the wife and Kids but I am sure Andy would love to see Montana as would I. So we'll see what happens between now and then. What's the closest airport to fly into? Your place looks awesome! I can't imagine having those mountains be my backyard...
If I do end up making it making it, maybe we can do a Knots Power user class or something like that...

I'll pick August 13, but try to work around other dates. Thanks for all this, Lee.

All I can say is WOW! I would be interested. What type of fee structure are you thinking of?
