Joe,
Check out this link. I'm not sure how reliable the info is, like everything else on the web, take the good & bad and analyze for yourself if it will meet your needs.

Joe,
I just checked the cabinet saw review at the FWW site, and they had very favorable opinions of the Bridgewood.

Thanks Jeff I will check it out also

Joe,
I see that Wilke has the 10" Bridgewood cabinet saw on sale for $1299. I'd say that's a whole lot of saw for the money.
Jeff
Jeff,
What do you think of the Bridgewood 12-cs? Wilke doesn't list it on their site, but toolseeker lists them as the source. I don't know a thing about them. They good saws? How do they compare to the usual standards; jet, delta, pm, etc.
Don
BTW, what is the upcut saw Wilke has? Never heard of one. Seems like an awfully small table for the size of blade and depth of cut.

Don,
That's actually the model FWW tested. I wonder if they have the 12" in their print catalogue? The on-line version doesn't seem very comprehensive.
The one thing I always wonder about buying from direct marketers or large wholesalers is what to do when there is a problem. I like the idea of having my dealer there with his own service department concerned about my satisfaction and not that of the manufacturer.
Up-cut saws are use extensively in manufacturing. The blade stays below the work surface until raised to cut by a pneumatic foot control. Advantage is you have a clear table with unobstructed vision. Drawback is the thing was designed in hell for the purpose of severing thumbs, fingers, hands and arms.
Knew a guy who worked in a mill in Negaunee, Mich. where they had a more sophisticated set-up with multiple blades and two operator stations. One man reached across the saw to clear some debris; the other made his cut. Apparently a control valve failed, and ALL the blades raised at once. You know what happened next.

Jeff,
Thanks for the info. I take it you have a favorable opinion of Bridgewood. I'd like to see one. I'm thinking of a new TS myself. Should I start even another thread on ts opinions? lol
Don
I see some of the aftermarket fences come in different grades, commercial and home use. None of the tablesaw information I've come across lists which fence comes with a saw. (Uni, beis, etc.) Anyone know the answer to this?
Don
Don,
NO!!!!!!!!!!! Don't start another TS thread, you could be tarred and feathered.
As far as I'm aware, Delta is the only manufacturer that gives you a choice: Biesmeyer or Unifence. The other manufacturers supply their own fences which all appear to be Biesmeyer clones with the exception of "The Amazing Shop Fox Fence" on the Grizzly Z-Series. (Other Grizzly saws come with the Shop Fox Classic, another Biesmeyer clone.)
I've never read anything negative about any of them except for the "Amazing..." which has some alignment problems. Seem I've read that you can also order saws with no fence at all and add whichever model you prefer. Not a bad way to go if one wants have something like the HTC with its micro-adjustment.
The standard models are usually "commercial grade" unless indicated otherwise, e.g. "Jet Homeshop Fence". These are most often found on the smaller saws and are generally 30" models.

haha, no intention of starting another fence thread. Just wondered about the grade of fence that comes on the saws. Considering price differences, maybe that is one of the reasons why?? Thanks for the answer, but I believe I'll ask when buying.
Don
it would be nice if FWW made a section just on all the posts about table saws, jointers and band saws. They would their own little section like joinery, finishing and tools but it could be just on Bandsaws, Table Saws and Jointers. The threads would never disappear and would never be dated.... I have a dream....
I'd love to have a Canadian Made General.
