I’m a novice and I’m working with 1 x 3 dimentional lumber to create frames for cabinet doors…lots of cabinet doors. Given the wood, I thought I should create a 1/4″ wide by 1 7/8″ long tenon. Is it possible to create a mortise this deep with a router? If so, what bit should I use (I can’t find one long enough )? If not, what’s the best approach (I don’t have a drill press. I don’t have a morticer.)? Or am I should I make smaller tenons?
Thanks for your advice.

About an inch and a quarter is the maximum depth for a router.
I don't think there is any major problem with making the tenons about 1 1/4" long and, if 1/4" seems too thin, then 1/2" wide.
clements,
I prefer a 5/16" mortise/tenon in 3/4" stock. The tenon is stronger, and the mortise is easier to clean out. And, 1" tenon length is ample strengthwise, if the joint is a good fit.
