I am building a chair. The legs both have tapers. The rear leg has a 30 degree taper on the inside and the front leg has the same on the outside. I want to mortise and tenon two rails into these legs. What is the best way to cut the mortises and tenons. I will be using a router for the mortises and a table saw with delta tenoning jig for the tenons. Should I cut the mortises and tenons before i cut the tapers? Should I taper the mortises and tenons themselves or should i run them straight? Any help will be appreciated.

Hopefully this is the reply link to your question of M&T's in tapered legs, Mr. Burton. If you start with squared-off stock, punch your mortises and do your tenon shoulder cuts first, also using a full scale drawing, life will likely be easier than mine was when I built tapered, slanted, tilted-leg bar stools! Mostly what I discovered was cut-and-try was way too time-consuming for those type of layouts- one is better off using drawings.
