I’m making some mortise and tenon joints in white oak for several exterior screen doors. Tenons will be 4″ wide and 2″ deep. Here’s the question: for strength am I better making tenons a little fatter (1/2″ vs 3/8″) with thinner mortise walls (13/64″) or thinner tenons with thicker mortise walls (17/64″)? material is 29/32″ thick. I plan to use epoxy for glue up.

d,
a safe rule to go by for tenon thickness is to cut them about 1/3 the thickness of one's stock. so yours ought to be around 5/16".
it may also be a good idea to pin those tenons.
