Hello all,
I am have built a 27′ long by 7′ tall cherry cabinet wall system. It is built like kitchen cabinets so it can be reconfigured. Being half of the upper cabinets are open shelf I want to find a way other then the standard screw through the face edge. I thought about dowelling between the cabinets, but then every one would have to be perfect to the others. there are 10 upper cabs. Any ideas? I think I will need 3 mounting per side to get the face somewhat smooth to each other.

"Knock-down" hardware
For connecting the components together, you might consider "knock-down" hardware designed for this purpose. Connector bolts and cap nuts might be what you are looking for.

Mounting
Trim head screws positioned so the side edge of the shelf hides it.
