Does anyone know of a source for mechanical clock movements for tall clocks? The one mentioned in Lonnie Bird’s 2004 FWW article (Green Lake Clock) is no longer selling products.

been a few years, but try: klockit.com
That's a shame. Used one of his units several years ago, was very nice.
You can try these folks.

I bought a movement set from Klockit.com about a week ago. Great source for kits and parts.
Try clockworks.com, klockit.com, or oldtimechimes.com The sights are still up, so I guess they are still in business. I built three clocks with my dad in 1970, and he bought the movements from an outfit no longer in business, but I believe the movement is available. If I can dig up the paperwork, I'll post it in this thread. I know the catalog number for the movement was U-14 (Westminster Chime) and it went in a #336 case. I'll track it down.
Planewood.
Thank you!
I've used Klickitat fairly recently, and many times over the years. They're great for electronic movements. I have no idea where I would go these days for mechanical works.
Wow. How does autocorrect change klockit to Klickitat?
Oddly enough the domain is taken by a man with a segmented turning for his logo. Now his web traffic will spike and he'll have no idea why.
You won't find a simple tall clock movement at Clock kit or similar suppliers. The Greenlake movement was a Kieninger Bell Strike movement, I assume he had the weights and pendulum cast.
Merritt had a similar unit, but details are sketchy. They could probably provide more info/images if contacted.
