Hi,
I need to move a 15-inch planer from Powermatic.
I am planing to separate the base with its motor, the 2 extention table.
I will use an engine hoist to lift the planer in my pickup trunck and also the base.
Is somebody know thw weight of the separated components ?

Don't you have the model number of the equipment?
it should be somewhere on the machine. From there you just google it.
If you can dig up an email from when it was shipped, the freighter will have also told you the weight.
I would just move forward, go slow, and make sure you are NEVER underneath that load for any reason while it's in the air.
Buy something like this to ensure as you pick it up the weight ratings are all high enough. if it exceeds stop and get different equipment.
I have a Powermatic 15HH planer. The manual says it weighs a total of 502 pounds. Most of the weight is above the base. If you remove the table extensions subtract (guessing 30 t0 40 pounds). The motor is in the sheet metal base (subtract 35 to 50 pounds for the motor and maybe 30 to 40 pounds for the sheet metal, and wheel assembly). So, just guessing, with the table extensions and base removed the top assembly will weigh somewhere between 382 and 407 pounds.
Thanks for the info. Yes I am planing to go slow. By chance I do not need to rise it very high.
If it is only 500 lbs that is nothing with an engine lift. They are capable for lot more. Why take it apart?
I use engine lifts for all kinds of things. Including moving my 30" cast iron bandsaw and bare frame would weight a lot more than that. Just make sure you rig it so proper and swing it as one piece into your truck.
I would be very careful swinging with an engine lift.
They are only stable vertically.
Lot of fail videos online of this.
Only if you don't know what your doing.
If you are scared of one then you shouldn't use it.
Where's the planer going? Selling? Moving?
It's one of those things you might be better off hiring a mover. Only bad things can happen when you disassemble and reassemble.
An electric hoist mounted to your ceiling rafters is inexpensive and a safe way to move heavy objects. Wouldn’t have to take anything apart.
Add a sliding rail for the hoist to ride on really adds functionality.
This is what I did to move a 400 lb bandsaw. I only need to raise it a few inches. Not sure if it was "safe" but it did work and allowed me to lower it onto a moveable base. Not sure if completely applicable to what you are doing. If you can find safe movers in your area, what you need would likely be easy for them.

Bolt two 2 X 6 under the legs and hire a tilting bed towing, he will winch it up the ramp and drop it right in front of your garage. You then use steel piping under the 2 X 6 to carry it inside.
