Bob Smalser hasn’t posted here for awhile, but it’s easy to see why he might have been short on web-surfing time! Great article about chisels in this year’s Tools and Shops on page 48. Thanks Bob, for all your hard work and excellent writing style. This’ll be one that lives in the shop rather than the living room!
Hope things are going well at Camp Union (not far from our island!). Thank you for providing some refuge for the hard-pressed critters around the Puget Sound.

My pleasure, thanks.
But Senior Editor Andy Engel and Art Director Mike Pekovich are the guys responsible for the professional presentation and layout....I just wrote the words. The premium Barr chisels we used in the photo shoot were Mike's personal set.
“When we build, let us think that we build forever. Let it not be for present delight nor for present use alone. Let it be such work as our descendants will thank us for; and let us think...that a time is to come when those (heirlooms) will be held sacred because our hands have touched them, and that men will say, as they look upon the labor and wrought substance of them, ‘See! This our father did for us.’ “ --John Ruskin.
