The end product I am looking for is strips of 5/16 x 3/4 inch ponderosa pine. I am thinking of cutting down 1×4 or 1×6 in 6 or 8 foot to do this. I need about 200,000 linear feet of this a year. So I am stuck in the middle of a big saw and doing it one strip at a time. Do you know who makes a multi blade band saw (so a minimal kerf is cut) or a gang rip – both new or used that would work for me? I was looking in the under 10000 dollar range. It would be better if it was in the 5000 dollar range. This will be a finished product, so a minimal saw kerf mark is need too. I have 220 but can get a converter or install 3 phase. I have a 3 hp saw now but arbor is too small. I have heard of a guy converting a moulder to have multiple blades but I have no idea how to do this or how it works and what the
quality of the finished product is. Thanks [email protected]

Why not get a price from a mill? Thats alot of wood strips. Maybe setup 4 or 5 thin kirf carbide blades with spaces between and "gang" rip. With the right blade very light or no planing needed. apower feeder would be an investment.
*One of the companies that sell planer/molders have multiple drum attachments with one that will take several saw blades for gang ripping. I get their flyers in the mail and usually throw them away. ?????? Can't remember who they are??? Their 12" model was someing like $800??? They have 18 and 22 inch wide models too. Wasn't Belsaw or Sunhill. If I think of it I'll let you know.
