I’ve been eyeing the Rabbet-Master Kit by Jesada and other multi-rabbeting kits (Freud, CMT too probably). These are the kits with a large rabbeting bit and a variety of bearings included to make different depth rabbets. I guess you can also use the bearings on profile bits to change the profiles.
Anyone have any comments on these kits? Seems like an efficient purchase to me. They don’t have the kit per se at my local supplier, but they have the larger rabbeting bit, and a set of bearings available separataely, which I’d think would be the same thing.

The piece by Jesada is nice. I have one rabbet master and bought 4 rabbet bits last week because of the service I have got out of the Jesada rabbet bit. It is razor sharp and is very convenient. I need the rabbeting bits to do a major job coming up-so I wanted to make sure I had plenty.
Their price is right on with Freud, and of course a little cheaper that CMT.
I really want one of those kits... My birthday is October 29th. If you buy two you can get a discount sometimes.... Please..... LOL.... I've heard some nice things about the Jeseda.
Here's what I would prefer: Whiteside - These run about 29.00 each.

Steve, my birthday's tomorrow!!! Got some money from my sis, may spend it on a rabbeting set :-) She doesn't understand, but she always approves!
I want one that flush-trims too though (I know, picky, picky, picky!). I have tomorrow off from the store (my employee's gift to me for birthday!), so am going to go once again over the different sets and make up me mind.
My friend Greg and I have talked about going co-op on a cabinet saw. Why don't you move back up here, and the three of us can put together a shop to die for! LOL!forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
