I want to make a few items that call for angled edges to form a circle. I know i’ve seen or heard of a formula that no matter how many sides an item has they can be cut to fit tight. IE:
6 sided
8 sided
13 sided
22 sided etc.
anyone out there know this formula? thanks

miter angle A = 180 / n
where n is the number of sides.
For example, n = 6. This gives A = 30. Set your saw's miter gauge to that angle, and you're set.
Be prepared to do a little tweaking, though, because the cumulative error from multiple pieces is going to add up to a not-so-great fit for the last piece. If the ring is going to consist of an even number of segments, the easiest thing to do is to first glue it up in two halves, then trim the two ends of each half-ring so that they're perfectly aligned, and then finally glue the two halves together.

Well the only formula I know is to take however many sides you have and divide that number into 360 degrees, or a circle.
So 6 sides will need 60 degree angles, 360/ 6 = 60
8 sides will need 45 degrees and so on. 360/8 = 45
