Hi Peter.
I had a friend ask me how she is to finish a Harp she is building.
I have no knowledge on this, but I understand that the finish can have a great effect on the sound. A simple to use finish would be the go, as she is (like many of us) very much an amateur.
Thanking you.
Caldoche.

Caldoche,
A very simple to use finish would be the wipe on type varnishes such as Waterlox. It really doesn't get any easier than that. Just follow the directions on the can.
The commercial harps I have seen have a lacquer finish. I'm sure some of the custom makers have their own finishing schedules.
Why not have the finish done by an experienced finisher?
Just a thought.
Peter
Peter.
Thanks for taking the time to reply. I'll pass your recommendations along to my friend.
Cheers, Caldoche.
