Well now I just gotta share that I picked up a slightly used Unisaw. Made in 1953 to be exact. Just the saw no extension wings & no motor cover & I have to replace the motor because it is 3 phase & the switch will be replaced.
At this point in time it looks like I may have sold my contractors saw & the difference out of pocket will be around $300 when I finish this project.
I plan on building the right extension & left extension wing with a router table built into it. I am putting the Shopfox classic fence with 7′ rails on the saw & have purchased the motor cover from Grizzly.
I’ll be going to the motor shop tomorrow to to check into a 3 hp motor.
I’ll be ordering a magnetic switch for it also.
I’m going to build my own mobile base too.

Since you already have it that far apart, you should go ahead and replace the arbor bearings. It's not a difficult job, and you can find step-by-step instructions over at the OWWM website, in the Delta section.Another worthwile tune-up is to have the face plate on the arbor trued up on a machinist's lathe. I replaced the bearings in my P66 this year(after 14yrs.), and found the plate out of flat by .003. With a less-than perfect blade, this can translate to a lot of wobble 5 inches away.

I might be interested in purchasing the older 3 phase motor and switch. Contact me with a pict. of both.

You will be well served to check out the mag switches from Grizzly. I think this is a very well kept secret. They're very reasonably priced. I recently bought one for my big old Powermatic lathe and when I was wiring it I noticed that it was very similar to the one that came with my Unisaw.
Up date on progress of rebuild
Well my Delta Unisaw/ G1023Z is coming along fine.I couldn't afford the Delta motor so I purchased the Grizzly G1023Z 3 HP motor it has the same bracket on top & I'm sure it will spin the blade just fine along with that I purchased a magnetic switch.I also got a machined 3 belt 3" pulley & stick on tape measure because I'm going to have to scoot the guide rails over to the left some & I got heavy duty lockable casters for the mobile base I'll build for this saw.
