Hi all
Its my first time on this forum btw
Its also my first ever wood shop (I finally got my big garage )
I got my table saw second hand Rockwell/beaver 10 inc with 8 foot of table and guide up to 52 inc.
Obviously I knew that I would have to go through it piece by piece.
The height adjustment was giving me issues. It would not go down all the way and would also not be able to bring it back up afterwords.
So I started looking inside and found the sector gear to have the 2 last teeth missing.
My question is that I have no idea how to get a replacement part for this.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Either to try and DIY something or be able to order the part from somewhere.
Thanks all

If the existing piece is decent metal (not plastic, not "pot metal") but steel or aluminum, you could have someone braze on (if steel) or heli-arc (if aluminum) a lump of metal, then carefully file away the excess and shape the two missing teeth. A good welder will be able to tell if this method will work; it will depend on the existing part's ability to stay true and accept the heat of the welding process.
I've actually seen a gear repaired by someone pinning small pieces of metal in place, then filing the shape. If nothing else, you could try what auto mechanics often use, JBWeld. If you need to go this way, check with an experienced mechanic to see if he thinks it would be successful, and hold up. When you get it fixed or replaced, be sure to keep all the moving parts lubricated so you won't have to force it like the guy who broke off the teeth.
There is a sector gear for sale right now on Ebay.
Search ebay for:
Sector Gear for Rockwell/Beaver 6201 and 34050 Table Saw
