My new find. Now I need a project to use it for! Lepord Wood..
OK, so I just HAD to but it! Now what to do with it?
Any suggestions out there in Knots land? I have two boards (sticks to me) 65 inches long, 9+ (a little) inches wide, and 1+ (a little) inch thick.
The color in the attached picture matches the original color very closely. At least on my computer screen. Dry wood without a wetting to show the color.
I amd sure that I do not want to resaw it, but maybe I should? I would hate to ruin it.
I have used Lepord wood (often) before but usually only for accent trim with my usuall Jatoba I often use. My last batch of Jatoba has been a true disaster! Most, if not all, was reaction wood! I think I need a new favorite wood to use….
I like mixing Lepord with other woods. Very pretty, at least to me…

hey will,
whenever i see that type of figure i think it would look great made into some art deco-ish. it just seems to lend itself to soft curves, wide surfaces and straight lines. that lovely yellow would be highlighted were you to blend a little red within the project, mahogany or bloodwood perhaps. let us know what you come up with.

How's that Carvewright?
Will,
Maybe you can use that fancy machine of yours to carve a couple big cats in one of the boards and frame it and hang it on your wall. Call it camoflage or something like that.
