Unloaded the new planer and drill press today. Can’t wait to see the chips fly. Tomorrow I’ll run a few 2×10’s though it just to test it out. Maybe I’ll bore a few holes with the DP. Anymore project suggestions?
Thanks,

nice score on the vintage tools - might suggest the first project to be clean-up and tune-up - - here's hoping you find no negative surprises - - how big is the planer? -
Dave
I seem to recognize both. I think the Unidrill originally belonged to Henry Ford. The planer looks like the one from my High School Shop from the early 60's. ha..ha..
Nice find. A little touch up paint and they'll look like they just came off the show-room floor. They're not likely to blow away in a wind-storm either.
Have fun...

I just bought a 12 1/2 dewalt planer, but If I had seen something like that on the market, count on me that it would have been mine !!!!
Nice tool, by the way.
Good luck with the clean up. I have a wire brush on the lathe. Dismantle everything, brush everything, grease what need to be greased and paint what need to be painted, and have fun !

DJK,
Nice vintage machines, the powermatic is a real find, looks like the one I used when I worked in a display shop in Detroit during the 70's.
Armin:
It may be the planer you used. It's a 1969 vintage #221 ( not very old ) and came out of a shop in Detroit ( I'm in Warren, MI ) been sitting with the 1964 Unidrill collecting rust and bird crap for the past 12 years. Both run fine, just need a cleanup and adjustments. They even threw in an unused set of knives. The Unidrill has a 6" stroke. Picked them both up for $300. I need to find a way to move the 36" Moak Band Saw I also purchased from them. That beast has a 3 hp, 900 rpm Howell motor. It weighs 3300+ lbs and is 9 1/2' tall. I won't say what I paid for fear of death threats. Went to the yard to pickup 400' of Khaya and brought back the machines.
