For those of you that use a pneumatic nail gun as a regular part of project building in your shop, my question is what gauge nails do you use and what is the most common length do you use when plywood is involved. Also, is the oil that is used in most of these guns cause any problems when it comes to finishing time ?

I have the Senco FSN 2 finish gun. It doesn't need oil.
It shoots 18 ga. I think.
I would also like to have a 23 ga. brad nailer.
I think the oilless guns use a graphite empregnated
plastic piston as I remember. No probems with mine.
23 and 18 ga Senco oil less.
bullet proof

Bostitch also makes a line of small body tools at are oil less.

Got several PC and one Bostich. 15-18 GA. Air/oil mixture exits at the top of the guns with a directional vent. Have had no problems with the oil affecting finishes. I use nitro and WB lacquer, and acrylic finishes.
I use the Senco that shoots 15 ga up to 2-1/2", and the Senco that does 1-1/2" 18 ga. After having the latter abt 10 yrs, I had to buy a Grizzly 18 ga so I could shoot 2" nails for a situation where the big Senco left too big a hole. The grizzly uses oil but it doesn't seem to matter.
Watch how much oil you use. Excessive oil will mist out of the exhaust port.
Come finishing time the could be problems..
