I spilled a small amount of nail polish remover on my light oak coffee table. The spot where is spilled is now very shiny compared to the rest of the table. How can I fix this? Help!

Try just a smidgeon of 0000 (finest) wire wool on the end of your finger in a tiny spot. Rub with the grain. (Failing wire wool, try a bunched up corner of a grey Scotchbrite pad [Home Crapot] very gently where the the shiny bit and duller bit join. Dust off. If it looks okay, do a bit more. If you're sure you're doing okay, dull the whole blob, otherwise stop and get back here with your findings. Stop wearing nail polish in the future. ;-) Sliante.
