Start out with a small box of each size and you will find out what size you use the most. Each person has different needs and uses so it's really impossible to go by someone else's needs.
I can appreciate that we all have different needs that depend on what we are doing. I was just wondering what sizes people find that they reach for the most often in the shop. I am used to having only a couple of sizes of the various nails I commonly use on a job site and thought this might apply to the 23 ga nailer too.Greg
one of my 23 gauge pinners maxes out at 1" and another at 1 1/8
I keep 1 1/8", 1" and 5/8" generally. Small packages cost round 10 bucks a pop and seem to last forever. Larger packages are around the 50 buck mark and will likely be in yer estate sale, unless you drop the sucker first, in which case you will be cursing your misfortune up to your estate sale.....
8 years ago I left my box of pins on site near a hot water heater, which burst and got em all wet. I'm still using wierder sizes of 18gauge and narrow crown staples which still show the evidence of this disaster......argggh!
Small boxes for me...
Eric
In the end I talked a buddy into splitting some boxes so we went with 5/8", 1" and 1 3/8" pins and a box of 1 3/8" brads for starters. I appreciate what you said about getting smaller boxes but for us the price difference for the larger boxes plus sharing made it the way to go.Greg
I'm curious....did ya go high end 23 ga as in omer (400ish) or offshore...79.Has both for about a year now and cannot discern a 300$ difference.Eric
I guess the gun is midrange. The Cadex 23.35 with 10,000 of each of the 5/8", 1" and 1 3/8" pin sizes and 4000 of the 1 3/8" brads came in at about $370(CAN) taxes and shipping included.(The gun itself was $240) I am curious as to which offshore brand you went with.Cheers Greg
