I have Senco finish & brad nailers and like both. I have a Harbor Freight brad nailer and knew it was a mistake pretty quickly.
Be very wary of the Chinese rubbish that we see in this country it probably turns up under different brands all over the world try paslode they make a very nice 18g brad nailer.
You can make it fool proof but not idiot proof
For price, see Porter-Cable, for quality, see Paslode.

How about a compressor for them? Chuck
Dear Chuck,
No one that I'm aware of makes a quiet compressor, therefore, I would choose Porter Cable for price & Emglo for quality. I own a Porter Cable compressor, and it works well.Best,John
Pancake?Chuck
For the nailers that you describe, a pancake would be fine or a "hotdog". Senco used to make a small unit, pretty quiet. You can usually find "package" deals, that will get you a gun, hose & compressor.John
I got a Senco half horse compressor because I did not want to lug my Emglo up 10 stories when I'm doing finish work. It's OK, but it has no capacity to speak of, and so it's constantly cycling. That's not a bad thing, just a fact. And, it's very quiet.
I'm usually over at Breaktime, and over there, Senco 23 gauge pin nailers don't enjoy a great reputation. (I know from a local source, that that situation will soon change, but ....)
For bigger finishing work I use a Paslode 16 gauge nailer, and I also have an off-brand 18 that works just great. For delicate work I use a Cadex 23 gauge pin nailer. What a joy!
HOpe that helps.Quality repairs for your home.

Hitachi make class nailers. I use a 15g and 18g for my work, and they are great. I had a Grizzly cheap 18g gun--and it was cheap.
The pc finish nailer is solid, but I think their brad nailer is very nice. Most trim carps in my area us the pc brads, most use bostitch or older senco's for finish nailers. I've heard senco's are not what they use to be.
Chuck, I am a heavy hobby guy, not a guy that uses them all day every day to make a living. I started on the cheap with CH and off brands and now have a full AND VERY HAPPY rack of PC. Buy them soon before Black and Pecker paint them yellow.
The compressor I will admit was a predijuced buy as we used Ingersoll in submarines and I figured that they knew a few things about them. I picked up the double frankfruter IR( the top of their line in that class at the time) at Home Despot just as they dropped them, at a fair price. It has not failed me in 3 years. All the best, Pat MM-1 (SS)
I have a Hitachi 15 guage angled nailer to install molding in our house (almost done). It's worked fine - a few thoughts:
I picked up this model, Dewalt finish and compressor combo for $170 delivered 2 months ago. Found the deal on Fatwallet. Shop around other than lowesa and HD. You could pickup a good deal if you are patient.

Senco and Porter Cable, very happy with both. Senco are a bit more heavy duty.
