We have an interesting table that has two tops to it, hinged together.
In the smaller configuration, the tops are stacked one atop each other.
When you need more room, you unfold the top panel and rotate both tops
90 degrees. I’m sure there’s a proper name for this style of expanding
table, and I’d sure love to know what it is, and who makes the hardware
for it…
Thanks for your help!

Kay,
It sounds like a card table or game table, perhaps victorian style. As kids we reffered to it as the 'flip flop table'..and my sisters stored their Sunday church gloves in the little drawer space that appeared when unfolding the table...
The only hardware I'm aware of was the hinges and a screw that came up from the post..
It's known as a swivel-top or pivot-top table. The double top is usually hinged with a counter-flap hinge, or sometimes the mangle-top hinge, which is similar but has a round ended leaf instead of butterfly appearance of the open countertop hinge. Most, but not all, of these tables have single pedestal legs with a large foot arrangement.
The lower top rotates on a table swivel plate, which is hard to find nowadays, but one can be rigged up. A stop is needed on the underside of the lower pivoted top to limit the pivoting movement to 90ยบ The majority of this pattern of table are sqaure in plan when opened, although rectangular tops are sometimes seen. Slainte.
Thank you so much for your help!Kay
