Sometimes I call it a big bevel square, and other times a saw guide. I got this a long time ago, and man is it a handy tool !
One of my people asked me where she could get one. I’ve been looking everywhere I can think of and not finding it. Are these even being made anymore ?

I am pretty sure Sears sells something very similar with a protractor attached to it....I know I have seen them just not 100% sure it was Sears..

It's meant for guiding Skil saws, in various forms it can be found in most lumber yards.

Porter cable makes a protractor gauge which is similar to what you have. Might even be a little better as it has the protractor scale.
Hey! those were some quick responses !
I guess I didn't look hard enough. That protractor one looks pretty good. Thanks for the help fellas.
I bought one of those many years ago, probably in the '60's. The one I have is called a "squangle". It's both a square and protracter guide to use with a skill saw.
You mean it's NOT a "doohickey"? Wow! I've been going wrong for years! ;-)

NO, don't look like a "doohickey" or even a "thing-a-ma-bob"to me. I think it's definitly a squangle.Be not afraid of going slowly. Be afraid only of standing still. chinese proverb
What was that about two nations divided by a common language? ;-)
Merry Christmas
