I’m sure most of you have noticed the many tributes to Nancy Hiller on her passing. The New York times just ran her obituary yesterday, if anyone is interested.

Thanks john_c2. It was a well written tribute. We'll all miss her writing, her woodworking, and great character.
It was very moving and a lasting gift to her family that I hope will bring comfort in time.
I have always been puzzled by the use of the word “honest” when describing a piece of work, but now it is clear - a dishonest piece uses ornamentation to cover up low quality materials or workmanship. Hiller’s work was very honest indeed!
Her interest in the fuller sense of the word “passion” really resonated with me as I had not been able to articulate that particular blend of joy and suffering until now.
May her memory be for a blessing.
