I live in CT and I have an impossible time finding hard wood. If anyone knows of a good supplier (by mail order or lumber yard) please do tell.
Thanks,
Bob

I purchase nearly all my lumber from Groff & Groff Lumber in PA. They have a wide selection of excellent lumber, fair prices and quick service. Many times I will place an order and the material will arrive the following day via a common carrier ( I live in Ohio). They run ads in every issue of Fine Woodworking.

Cass, Rob is right about Groff & Groff, I am lucky to live close to these folks and can attest to their quality. They do a lot of their business outside the area like Rob says. Give them a try. John Cook
Cass,
Try this place. Just over the border from northwest CT in Sheffield, MA

Cass -
Not sure what part of CT you are in, but in Enfield there is the Connecticut Wood Group's Hardwood Outlet. http://www.cwghardwoodoutlet.com. Also, in Manchester there is Harris Woodworking. I prefer the Hardwood outlet when I'm just looking for wood, but Harris also carries some tools & finishing supplies
Check out http://www.woodfinder.net. Great resource for finding suppliers.
