Hello,

Ive done several small wooden craft boxes in the past but have decided to step up my game and create a gift for my son. I want to build him a toy box and make it look like an old treasure chest. The problem I have right now is that I cant find any really good iron bands or something similar for the outside of the box. Ive painted smaller pieces of metal (from Home Deopt) before or “aged” them with moderate success, but they dont really have what I ned for this larger project? Any ideas on where I might find some iron bands or something similar for this kind of project? I appreciate the help as I really am trying to make something special for my son.

Note: I would like the metal pieces to run vertically on at least two sides and possibly the lid. The chest I’m looking to build will be approximately 36″x18″x24″. Im planning on using red oak for the wood.
