Hi Gary,
My wife is bugging me for a particular mirror from Pottery Barn. It’s made from maple and is 36″ H x 66″ W. I’m sure i can make it if I can only get a little guidance. I have searched the archives for related articles and came up short on anything close to this particular design. I was wondering if you could give me any suggestions where I might find some similar plans or articles that may help me in my search. I’ve attached a picture of the mirror she wants. I’m sure I can make the moldings for the frame on my shaper , i just need a jumping off point. I’ve mostly done cabinet work until now and I’m looking to stretch my legs. Thought this would be a good starter project. Any suggestions?

Hi,
I think your best bet is to search for picture frame articles. It's what you'd be doing: making a frame for something to fit inside. The only difference, besides weight, is that it will be a mirror and not a picture inside.
Make up your frame stock using the patterns you like, run a rabbet on the back edge where the mirror fits, miter the ends, glue up, strengthen those, and fit the mirror. It's pretty simple.
But check for picture frame joints or assembly articles and I think you'll have better luck.
