If I can't find parts I will put up for sale. It is in good condition . Motor works and when it was all together it worked great. I wasn't able to adjust beds because the rack and pinion gears were damaged.
Unless you can locate a donor, I think your best option is to send the failed parts to a machine shop and make new ones.
There are many options online for this. While I'm unfamiliar with the cost, I don't think it would be too much.
I've had automotive parts sent out for fabrication like this, and it wasn't pricey.
If you don't want to be bothered by it, I'd be curious about what you want for the machine.
Also, I'm curious: what's wrong with the gears?...
They were forced to turn by previous owner who didn't loosen the set screws and they were pretty mangled. And it's both of the gears with wheel on it.
Goodness...I was thinking about how these gears would get ruined in the first place.
They must have put some torque into it to accomplish that.
Look up some online machine shops/gear manufacturers and contact a few of them.
I'm positive you can simply arrange to mail those in, and they will take care of everything else for a reasonable price.
Thanx for all your help Mr. Enthusiasm I appreciate you
Vintage machinery guys might be helpful. I think there is a site called "vintage mahinery". Sprunger has been long gone, like 35 years or more and who used their stuff anyway? I think though they did make things that were rebranded by others , like Montgomery Wards maybe and may possibly be identical for your parts search. Used a small vintage jointer of similar quality and in working condition are a dime a dozen on Craigslist.
Thanks I was checking that out earlier today
