All,
I’m making a Walnut hall-tree/umbrella-stand and need some spindles about 3/4″ by 24-30″ long. I have no lathe and couldn’t turn them if I did.
What I’m after is basically what you see on many of the various crib plans you see on the net. Rockler sells them, but only in Oak, Maple, or Birch. I need Walnut, (or alternatively something that will match with some creative finishing).
Is there a place I can order them, or do I need to have them turned locally? I’ve done the google thing without much luck.
Thanks,
Eric

Thanks for the link. I looked, but didn't see spindles. I'm looking for these: http://www.rockler.com/CategoryView.cfm?Cat_ID=1437&cookietest=1, but in walnut.
Thanks,
Eric
Assuming that by "spindles" you mean dowels, here are three sources I found with a quick websearch:
WoodCraft: http://www.woodcraft.com/family.aspx?DeptID=2121&FamilyID=667 Cheapest!
Woodworkers Supply: http://woodworker.com/cgi-bin/FULLPRES.exe?PARTNUM=203-017 Only slightly more expensive than WoodCraft.
Rockler: http://www.rockler.com/product.cfm?page=865&filter=Dowels Insanely expensive!!
