Need source for expert furniture plans
I am trying to find a quality design for a baby crib; however all the plans I have been able to find on the internet are very simple, basic DIY type plans. I am looking for something a little more advanced. Does anyone know of a place to find intermediate or advanced woodworking plans?

What type are you looking for?
I made this one recently for a friend, I don't have any plans but I made a few notes while building it. If your looking along these lines I'll be happy to share what I did.

Hey SG,
That is a beautiful crib! What kind of wood is it and what did use for a finish?
Thanksk,Harry

Hi Harry,The wood is just poplar (the bearing cover and the threaded lock are walnut) and I finished it with blonde shellac (I wanted to be sure it was non-toxic).Scott

The wood is just poplar ???
Poplar is NICE wood! More than nice..
By the way.. Great work...
Thanks for the complement.By "just poplar" I meant it was nothing uncommon.
Maybe I should have phrased it " Nothing exotic, common poplar"I like poplar also, and some of it can be quite beautiful.Scott
Hi, I hostestly like all them the 3 pic's. I see them as a piece of art, where the person took the time to each piece.Excellent carpentry. 10/10
I like the work you have done on each of the 3 pictures. To me they are a piece of art. Fine lines, smooth finish, the person who will be the benefactor of these marvelous pieces will enjoy your work.
Excellent 10/10.
Thank You Flipperene,My first crib, not perfect but hey, we're all still learning. :-)RegardsScott
You should be looking in books and magazines for plans. Looking on just the web is extremely limiting for most folks. Catalogs like Rockler, etc sell plans as well as the hardware.

I don't buy plans! But if I do it is only for the critical measurements and those usually get changed anyway. It's much more fun to flip through catalogs, magazines etc.etc. Figure out the manditory measurements for hardware, mattress size or whatever. And take the design features out of the pieces you like and then draw up your own plans and make it individual to your tastes. I've found most plans leave little to be desired and often with mistakes.

I don't buy plans! But if I do LOL!
Really, It's the truth.. I have two sets of plans that I've bought in 40+ years of WW. Bed and Shop building plans and I modified both of those to my liking. I'am not cheap just frugal ;-)Work Safe, Count to 10 when your done for the day !!
