I’m trying to find some inlay banding of traditional design and local (north american) species, about 1-2″ in width. I’ve searched multiple web sites. The only one that had anything near I wanted was mitrecraft though their selection is tiny. I bought a bunch of the Lee Valley stuff when they first brought it out (the wharehouse of Buffard? banding they bought in France) and am now spoiled. Their supply appears to be nearly exhausted. Anyone know of any sources that wouldn’t come up in a quick google search?

TJ,
are you looking for 1 to 2 inch banding or 1/2 inch banding? I've never seen anything in the 1 to 2 inch range, but if you are looking for the smaller stuff (like 1/2") then there is a guy on ebay that has bandings regularly for a good price.

P.S. I just did a quick check for wood banding on ebay and I don't see the guy that normally has the stuff I'm talking about. It's very similar to the stuff Lee Valley had for sale, just not as many different varieties.

Try Dover Inlay:

They have at least one wide inlay showing on their website but as they note the website is a very incomplete catalog of their products. Call them for the best info.

This is excellent. I haven't seen this site before.
Truejoing,
Realized that I sent you the link to the solid color inlay which I had as a favorite from looking for some solid stuff.
The site has a rather good collection of inlay material.
