Am adding to some kitchen counters that were built about 10 years ago (oak) and have Min-Wax Poly finish on them. After several years the wood and finish seem to Yellow to some extent. To try to match this the best I can on “New” wood added to the cabinets, does anyone have any good suggestions? Had figured setting it out in the “sun” several days before putting a coat of Poly on it. But I don’t know if that will really get me anywhere.
Suggestions?
Thanks….KK

If you match the color of the old work, which has very likely darkened/yellowed all it's going to by now, is the new work still going to match a year from now?
I'd say see if you can match what you think the old work looked like when it was new and then re-evaluate.
I had a similar problem with a job a few years ago. I used amber shellac with positive results.
