I’ve used the 3M maroon (and grey) pads in most of the finish/refinish work that I’ve done. Now 3M has released the product of my dreams but I can’t locate a source or find anyone that has used it. The new product(s) is the maroon pad for a 5″ or 6″ orbital sander with hook-loop backing. 3M emailed me the part numbers (below0 but none of my suppliers have heard of it. Has anyone tried any of these or know of a supplier?

Now THAT's an exciting product. I'm as interested as you. :-)
Jeff Jewitt sells 3M Scotch-Brite in all four grades. He doesn't list the pads, but I'll bet he would get them.
(I was so excited that I assumed you know how to get hold of Jeff. Just in case, http://www.homesteadfinishing.com )

*If you like the 3M pads, you should take a lot at a product called Abralon. Its made by Mirka. They were originally designed for buffing gel coat finishes on fiberglass. It actually buffs the surface and polishes the wood grain. Makes the surface as smooth as a glass. I even use them to rub out my finishes. They come in "grits" from 400 to 4000.Nick
*You may be able to locate them at an auto-body supplier. I get quite a few odds and ends at mine, and scotchbrite is a staple in auto body work.
