New dust collection help: contract saws
Anyone seen the Dust Monkey in the new Tool Crib catalog?? Looks like it might be a good solution to the vast open spaces in the back and bottom of these saws. It comes with “back enclosure plate, dust directing ramps, contour collector plate and instructions. Must be used with a dust collector. Dust collector and hose not included. ” Runs $49.99.

I wonder if it can be made to work on an old Rockwell contractor's saw?
Hmm.
Thanks, Jamie.
How does your Rockwell compare, configuration-wise, to a Jet, Delta, General, Grizz, etc.?? I bet there's a good chance!forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)Another proud member of the "I Rocked With ToolDoc Club" .... :>)
It's similar to the very old Delta ones, it's the predecessor by one generation, I think. It came from the period when some of them were labelled Rockwell Delta and others just Rockwell. Early sixties, I'd guess. It's old enough to have the Rockwell/Delta curved feet instead of straight ones. (i.e., the feet look like a capital J with the upstroke of the J being whacked off.)Leon Jester
