Forest Girl,
I know we both love woodworking , but it's getting awfully late to be posting . I think we ought to go and saw some logs and not in the wood shop! Thanks for your post though,as I'm in need of a real work bench.
By the way , it's been in the high 70's low 80's these past two weeks her in So. Cal. We wood work all year long here, with the shop doors open. No need for heaters! It's OK to be a little jealous.Go to sleep now.

A Woodworkers mind should be the sharpest tool in the shop!
Bob, that sure is purty! I like snow, but maybe not that much. My theory: If I have to be cold and miserable, I'd like some beauty. Just not too much beauty (like maybe 6", not enough to buy a snowblower, LOL).forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
forestgirl,
Had to plow the driveway this AM B4 heading 4 work (Gads, I'm writing like a teenager!). We've been getting on average about 3 significant snowstorms per week since 2 weeks ago!
At this point I can barely get the Jeep up the driveway cause it's so narrow and the snowbanks are level with the roof of the Jeep. Runnin outa room for the white stuff. The dogs are having a blast!

"Runnin outa room for the white stuff. " Wow! That was happening up at Snoqualmie pass (Cascade mountains in Washington State) last week and the week before. The pass has been closed a dozen times or more (seems like) so they could do avalanche control Actually "passes" plural, as there are 3 main passes, and at least once all three were closed at the same time. With an extra 5 hours, you could get to the east side of the mountains by going through Portland!!!forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
This looks like fun..... for about an hour or two! So sorry!!! It's so nice here today I think I'll move outside and work over some saw horses in the warm, warm sun..... Seriously there are flowers blooming just outside my shop door. I know I shouldn't be so cruel. So Cal. may drop off in the ocean then who'll have the last laugh.
Danny
Danny,
No cruelty taken here. It's all fun right?
Besides I kinda like haveing all four of the seasons. The down side in winter for me is that my woodshop time can get limited because of the infrequent sub zero bone numbing cold, but it hardly ever lasts very long.
When that happens it's time to light the fireplace, maybe break out a bottle of wine with some cheese and crackers and such and settle in. Either that or jaunt out to the Hottub with same and watch the snow fall on a moonlit night whilst sitting in the hot bubbly water.
The last flood was back in '27, don't remember the last quake and a forestfire was never ago, at least as long as I've been here. The foliage season here is to kill for, summers are green lawns and time at the lake! Mud season (Spring) I could do without though, except ya know what's just around the corner.

Yes, All in fun! My wife says she misses the seasons,as she's from the New England area. She keeps telling her parents that she'd love to move to Augusta,Maine where they live. They keep telling her she's crazy. Anyway I'm feeling pretty good right now as I spent the last day of so working out all the bugs in my new panel saw. On the phone many times with the tech guy from Mini Max. Thanks to their help I got em all worked out and every thing is dialed in to perfection. I'm kind of an accuracy freak when it comes to setting up my machinery. So now I need to go and start on the kitchen cabinets I'm building for a friend.
Happy Woodworking,
Danny
"...it's been in the high 70's low 80's these past two weeks her in So. Cal...." Now Danny, that was cruel! I'm from there originally, and if I could breathe the air, I'd be tempted to go back. Not to be, though.forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
