Welcome aboard UP. I would like to encourage you to fill in a little more of the info under user profile. A lot of the good folks who offer advice may need to know where you are on the planet Earth to taylor their advice to you even if you don't know that it matters, it might.
Welcome Paul. You probably know from lurking that we are all pretty civilized so I doubt that we will have any war stories to share with you :-)
Course, we may start a fewjust to have something to talk about.
Doug
UnclePaul,
Why don't you fill us all in on who you are and where you're from?
Brian
UP,
Welcome aboard!
I agree with Keith and Brian - tell us more!
Don't be afraid to fill out your user profile - as you can see from ours, we get to choose which information to share, and which to leave blank. Knowing where fellow Knotheads live is relevant far more often than one might think at first glance.
So, what kind of woodworking do you like to do? What do you consider your WW strengths? WW skills you're currently trying to improve? Favorite woods, furniture styles, etc.?
How about your profession? Hand surgeon? Tool importer? Botanist?
You've taken the first step - look forward to hearing more from you,
-Jazzdogg-

Hey Guys,
Sorry for such a limited intro.....About me, I'm a professional cabinetmaker in central Fl. Originally from New England (No More Snow for this kid).I work in a commercial shop with 8 other employees. We build custom cabinets-no 2 jobs ever the same-everything from mall kiosks to kitchens to entertainment centers.
I attended a 2 year furniture design/build school in the NE about 15 years ago.Been at it hard ever since.Hope to some day work for myself , But I know that's a hard road.
Where exactly do I fill out this "user profile" can't find......I promise I'm better in the shop than on this machine!!
Hi Paul, Welcome!! It's always exciting to have a new member, especially a pro. I agree with your feelings about big snow.
Look just above the first message in this bunch and you'll see a grey "Update Profile" link. Click on that. If you're still not seeing it, click on this link:http://www.taunton.com/eCommerce/Registration/Profile_Update.aspx
Looking forward to hearing more and taking advantage of your expertise!forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)Another proud member of the "I Rocked With ToolDoc Club" .... :>)
Welcome, UnclePaul. Where in Cen. Florida? You can't be too far from me, in Arcadia. Good to have you on board.
I'm just outside Orlando. Southwest about a 30 min. drive
Thanks for the welcome folks!!Profile is updated....I'm learning
Welcome Paul.
I knew exactly zilch about computers 11 months ago-now I am even able to call up my profile, find that it has "disappeared" and take corrective action! This forum has encouraged me to become more computer tolerant-and I learn things and get enjoyment from communicating with cyber friends.
My profile got lost in the recent re-organisation, but I am also a professional cabinet maker located in New Zealand.
Write up your profile asap , as has been said it is useful.
It seems there are two profies, the one ForestGirl pointed out via the gray "UPDATE PROFILE" link at the upper right hand side of the page, and another for personal info and preferences.
The former is where you manage things like email address and password.
The latter, where your personal information can be entered for others to view, can be accessed by clicking on your user id in any post to or from yourself.
I'm a relatively recent user. Has it always been like this, or is this a "feature" post "re registration"? Just curious.
Welcome UP,
So the snow gets you down, sorry to hear that (check my profile). I moved from North Carolina to _______ to get away from the heat and humidity. Much better here. Please feel free to post answers to questions. You'll be suprised what we can learn from you. And I mean that. I'm sure you have neat lill tricks of the trade that we could all use. We all ask question, post answers and even get into some good discussions.
Glad to have you aboard.......... get it?
Joe
Is it really saw dust or wood dust?
